Whilst the York and Ainsty South Hunt were excercising 70 hounds they savaged a pedigree dobermann pincher named Wilhelm – being walked on a lead by owner Herbert Claxton.
Mr Claxton said that the his dog was attacked on a footpath and the at the hounds were ‘three deep on top each other’ when attacking his dog.
Wilhelm needed stitches to four wounds – a hole in his abdomen and three tears to this back.
The hunt paid the veterinary bill, but Wilhelm died a few weeks later.
