South Cornwall Hunt hounds killed by train

SEVERAL foxhounds taking part in a hunt have been killed today when they strayed on to a railway line and were hit by a train, British Transport Police have said.

The hounds, which police said belonged to the South Cornwall Hunt, went on to the line close to Bugle Station near St Austell this morning.

A BTP spokesman said could not confirm the exact numbers of hounds that had been killed. He said that an officer was investigating the incident.

The South Cornwall Hunt is presently unavailable for comment.
